Interview with New Fusion Pro Champion Duff Doyle
RC: Duff let me ask you, how does it feel to become the Fusion Pro Champion?
DD: It feels good. It’s a real sense of accomplishment. I went into the match not knowing what was going to happen. 30 plus minutes later, I become the champion. It was a tremendous honor.
RC: I ’ve always wanted to know, what does one do, when growing up in Dacula, Georgia?
DD: I worked on a farm, milkin’ ol’ Betsy, early morning, gathering chicken eggs at noon. Rowin’ the fields till dusk. There wasn’t a gym in Dacula, so I had to make up my own exercise routine. Dead liftin’ the hay bales, wrastlin’ the pigs. It got me in shape so I could start wrastlin’ in Colorado. I trained in the APWA for a couple of months before starting in Fusion.
RC: So now that you’ve made it to the top of the mountain per say in Fusion, who do you think is your biggest threat to the title?
DD: Well there is a lot of threatening characters in Fusion. Everyone in the Gauntlet for the Gold was a challenge. The first Fusion champ, Jeff McAllister is an oblivious threat. I’m sure he wants the belt back and might try anything to do so. The second Fusion champ Paul Diamond, he maybe small but remember T.N.T comes in small packages. His heart and fighting sprit is unbelievable, he could be a huge threat to the title. But the biggest threat to the title is Juntsu. He is the toughest wrastler I ever wrastled. Had it not been for us gangin’ up on him in the end, he might’ve been champion.
RC: Well before we close this interview Duff, I have one last question for you. When are we going to see anymore of your “Get Buff with Duff” DVD?
DD: Yes, there will be a volume 2 coming out in the summer. It will have new techniques and lifts that will give you results. Well I’ll see ya later.
I am Randolph Cunningsworth IV, and this was OFF THE CUFF.
