HAVOC
The last Fusion show of the year started with an APWA Showcase match. The Altitude Pro Wrestling Academy is the only pro wrestling training facility in the state of Colorado and every so often, a student wrestles before a live crowd for the experience.
APWA SHOWCASE
Hannibal vs. Raheem Rashaad
The crowd got a look at Hannibal, an energetic young man from no fixed address as he took on the Arabian Prince. Before the match started, Raheem called for the mic and demanded to know who this person was. Raheem asked if Hannibal even knew how to run the ropes. Hannibal did so, but it was a trick as it gave Raheem a chance to hit a quick clothesline. Hannibal fought back valiantly, but in the end, Raheem proved to be too much for him. Raheem grabbed the Trainee and hit his new finisher Goodbye from Dubai for the win.
Winner: Raheem Rashaad
1st match
“Straight Laced” Tommy Bouchet vs. Echo
The second match of the night saw the return of Straight Laced Tommy Bouchet, as he took on the Enigma Echo. Bouchet started by giving Echo a thumbs up, which he followed with a quick amateur takedown. Echo got back on top, working over Bouchet’s arm. After several minutes, Bouchet managed to come back with hard knees to the stomach. Bouchet hit a big slam, but Echo kicked out after 2. Echo slowly fought back, hitting a big tornado DDT, but couldn’t put Bouchet down. The two fought toe to toe, but Echo ducked a big punch and hit a cross arm neckbreaker, earning another victory for the mysterious superstar.
Winner: Echo
2nd Match
Jason Noel vs. the Amish Warrior
Jason Noel came out ready for action as he was set to take on “the man who fights with the power of the Amish Nation,” who’s been on a role lately. The match started technical, with The Amish Warrior putting Jason into a headlock and holding on like a bulldog. Noel tried to escape several times, but the Amish Warrior kept it on. Eventually, Noel fought his way out, but Amish was ready for him and prepared to hit the “Amish Claw.” Noel saw it coming and ducked out of the ring immediately. After a moment to compose himself, Jason returned to the ring and gained control with a kick in the corner. Noel grabbed the Warrior’s Arm and jumped over the ropes, bringing the Warrior’s arm down hard. Jason took the opportunity and continued to work an arm wringer. The crowd got behind the Warrior, but Jason kept control. Noel hit a suplex and went to slam the Warrior’s head into the turnbuckle. The Turnbuckle slam had no effect, however and only served to pump up the Amish Warrior. The Warrior hit a flurry of offense, and went for an Irish whip, but Jason reversed into a suplex. The Warrior went up and over, and locked in the Claw. Jason Noel attempted to fight out, but the Warrior picked him up slammed him to the mat, holding The Claw the whole time. After a moment, Noel tapped out.
Winner: The Amish Warrior
3rd Match
Strap Match
“Your Idol” Jack Mecidol vs. Billy V.
Billy came out looking for revenge against the man who whipped him last show, and this was the perfect match to get it. A strap was hung from the ring and the only way to win was by getting that strap. Both men knew this, as they both made a quick move for the strap. After a scramble, Billy took control, hitting hard chops and kicks on Mecidol. Billy sent Mecidol into the corner and hit a big superkick on the rebound. However, it wasn’t enough, as Mecidol grabbed Billy when he went for the strap and dropped him with a belly to back suplex. Billy then went for the strap, but Jack was up too soon and dropkicked him out of the ring. Mecidol tried again, but Billy knocked him down with a headbutt. With Jack down, Billy climbed the turnbuckle and came down with a Frog Splash. This seemed to be enough to keep him down, but Mecidol fought back and went for the strap again. But Billy wasn’t about to lose this match so soon. He grabbed Jack on his shoulders and hit an Electric Chair Drop. Not wanting to take any chances, he kicked Jack outside. Before he got up, however, Mecidol was coming back into the ring. Billy nailed him with a baseball slide to keep him down and hit two more hard chops. Billy went up again for strap and came infinitely close to winning, but Mecidol intervened again, this time with a powerbomb. After a moment, Billy made it do his feet and went up. Jack pushed the referee into the ropes, racking Billy and setting up for a superplex. Billy managed to block it and hit one of his own. With Mecidol Down, Billy climbed the turnbuckle and grabbed the strap to win the match.
Winner: Billy V
According to the match rules, Billy now had freedom to use the strap against Mecidol, but Jack wanted no part of that. He took off, running around the ring with Billy in fast pursuit. As Jack attempted to exit through the crowd, Billy caught him and slammed his head into the lighting rack. After throwing him back into the ring, Billy got a rope from under the ring and tied Jack in place in the turnbuckle. As the fans cheered wildly, Billy got his revenge as he whipped Jack several times before dropping the strap and leaving him where he stood.
4th Match
Bison Smith vs. “Hollywood” JDT
Hollywood JDT has been on a remarkable winning streak as of late, but he faced his toughest challenge yet in the 283lb Bison Smith. Bison went into the match undefeated in Fusion and planned to keep it that way. He showed his strength early, shoving Hollywood to the mat after a tie up. He went for another tie up, but JDT slid through his legs. However, when JDT attempted a body slam, he couldn’t lift the big man and Bison sent him down with a chop. Bison beat JDT down for several minutes and it looked as if Hollywood had finally met a force he couldn’t overcome when suddenly he dodged a turnbuckle charge and jumped on Bison’s back, locking in a sleeper hold. Bison staggered, but quickly threw JDT over his head to the mat. Bison went for an elbow, but Hollywood moved out of the way. JDT went for his signature Crucifix roll up, but Bison stood his ground and grabbed JDT by the throat. Bison nailed a Chokeslam and a Powerbomb, but JDT still kicked out. Kicking out only angered Bison and he threw JDT outside the ring, where the big man feels at home. Outside, he lifted Hollywood over his head and threw him over the barricade. After JDT staggered back over the barricades, Bison attacked him again with hard chops. Bison, sensing the end, threw JDT back into the ring. Hollywood had a bit of fight left in him, however, and as Bison climbed back into the ring, he dropkicked him off the apron and into the Barricade. Bison couldn’t make it back before the ten count and JDT was declared the winner.
Winner by count out: Hollywood JDT
5th Match
“Mr. Intensity” Jeff McAllister vs. Duff Doyle
McAllister came out for his match against Georgia native with a Duff Doyle hat tucked into his trunks. He grabbed it, spit on it and dropped an elbow before throwing it out of the ring. Duff came out to tremendous applause from the crowd and told McAllister to bring it on. Jeff used his technical knowledge to his advantage, but Duff countered him every step of the way. McAllister lost his temper and charged Duff, who sidestepped him and threw him out of the ring. This only made McAllister madder and he charged again, only to be sidestepped and thrown out again. Jeff regained his composure and offered his hand to Duff for a friendly hand shake. Against the advice of the crowd, Duff extended his own hand. McAllister went for a cheap punch, but Duff was ready for this as well. He ducked the punch and hit a hip toss to take control. Duff hit a series of offensive moves, but McAllister gained temporary control with a thumb to eyes. McAllister charged Duff in the corner, but he ducked and sent McAllister to the apron. Outside on the apron, Duff went for a clothesline, which was ducked, but hit a back elbow the other way to send McAllister down. After suplexing him back in, Duff kept the match at his pace, using his country strength to punish McAllister. Just as it seemed Duff had the match won, McAllister hit a stun gun on the ropes. After a few kicks to the back, McAllister hit a hard double stomp. McAllister then hung Duff over the second rope and hit another double stomp, this time from the second rope. Duff tried to fight back with right hands, but McAllister answered him back with a stinging chop. McAllister sent Duff outside, and beat him mercilessly in front of all his fans. After sending him back in, McAllister hit a beautiful jump over leg drop for a 2 count. Jeff was ready to put this one away and went to hit Duff’s head into the turnbuckle. However, Duff blocked and McAllister ended up making contact instead. Duff regained some fire and catapulted McAllister back into the turnbuckle. Back into full swing, Duff hit a back elbow, followed by a clothesline and a hip toss. He then hit a big bodyslam and set up for the milker. McAllister blocked the milker and rolled Duff up in a small package. Duff escaped and locked McAllister in The Trailer Hitch, causing “Mr. Intensity” to tap out.
Winner: Duff Doyle
After the match, Duff showed he was still ready to go. He called several young fans out of the audience and had a “Dance with Duff” segment in the ring.
Main Event
Lumberjack Match for the FUSION PRO CHAMPIONSHIP
“Sensational” Paul Diamond vs. Juntsu (champion)
As decried by Victoria Starr, the main event was a lumberjack match. Charlie
B introduced the lumberjacks and the entire Fusion roster came to ringside. As
Charlie started to announce the competitors, Bison Smith’s music hit
and he surprised everyone by coming down to act as a lumberjack himself. After
he was situated (the other wrestlers let him have an entire side of the ring
to himself) the match began. Diamond came out ready to win back his
belt. He went right after Juntsu and was holding his own very well
until the Lumberjacks interjected themselves. The first major moment
was when Diamond was Irish whipped toward Bison who tripped him and pulled
him outside the ring. The match quickly broke down to brawl, but eventually
both men made it back into the ring. Diamond threw Juntsu out of the
ring and went out after him. Diamond attempted a Hurricanrana, but
the Champion caught him and slung him head first into the barricades. Once
again, the lumberjacks started fighting amongst themselves, with Bison slamming
multiple opponents into the barricades. Diamond was thrown back in
and Juntsu took control. Juntsu beat Diamond for several moments,
but decided that the lumberjack could do better than he could. He threw
Diamond outside the ring, making sure to throw him to the waiting hands of
Bison Smith. Bison slammed Diamond around for awhile and then military
pressed him back into the ring. Juntsu sent Diamond into the turnbuckle
with extreme force (knocking out three lights in the process) Diamond attempted
to fight back, but was sent back down with two double overhand chops. Juntsu
attempted to slam Diamond into the ground, but Diamond ducked and Juntsu’s
momentum sent him out to the floor. Before the champion ever hit the
ground, he was swarmed by lumberjacks and beaten. This led to the
other lumberjacks getting involved and for a third time the match broke down. While
the lumberjacks were fighting, Diamond hit a drop kick in the ring, followed
by his signature kick to the face in the corner. Diamond went for
a high risk move, but Juntsu caught him and slammed him to the mat. The
champion shocked everyone by climbing up to the top rope and coming off. Diamond
was ready, however and hit a kick to the gut as the champ came down.
The referee started the 10 count, but Diamond was up soon. He stayed
on top and hit a springboard Hurricanrana for two. Diamond went for
the precision cut, but Juntsu blocked and hit and overhead belly to belly
suplex. Juntsu tried to put Diamond away, setting him up for a super
belly to back. However, Diamond elbowed his way out and hit a super
precision cut off the top rope, using the light rack for leverage. Diamond
made the cover, but Jeff McAllister jumped to the apron and distracted the
ref. As he did this, Jason Noel ran in and hit Diamond with the Beholder. Juntsu
made the cover, but Diamond kicked out after two. Raheem jumped up
next and Hollywood JDT ran it. He hit the Premier on Juntsu and ran
out. Jack Mecidol followed, and hit the Ego Crusher on Diamond. Billy
V went after Jack and clotheslined him over the top rope. As the entire
match broke into one huge brawl, Victoria Starr’s music hit and she
demanded the match stop.
Result: No Contest
Ms. Starr berated the entire roster, saying that she knew nobody had the integrity to keep the match honest. She made that match, knowing that there would be interference and that she had a contingency plan. She announced that as of that moment, she was stripping Juntsu of the title. She declared that if everyone wanted the title so badly, they would all have their chance. Next January, when FUSION returned with more action, the title would be up for grabs in a gauntlet. She then exited the arena, leaving the stars to fight amongst themselves.
